The Virginia Commonwealth University Libraries invites
applications and nominations for the position of Director of Research Data
Management. The VCU Libraries seek
a dynamic, energetic and knowledgeable individual to lead the Libraries’
research data management initiative to support researchers across VCU. The
Director will develop services that support the management of research data
over its life cycle from identifying and supporting tools for investigators to
developing protocols for data mining, curation and preservation. The successful
candidate will join a culturally and academically diverse faculty of the
highest caliber. An ALA-accredited graduate degree or an accredited graduate
degree in an appropriate discipline and three years of relevant work related
experience are required. Demonstrated knowledge of: information-seeking and use
behaviors; structure of knowledge, primary research tools, publishers and
vendors; and the research and teaching approaches in one or more broad health
or life sciences disciplinary areas are preferred. Salary: Minimum of $60,000
