ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY invites applications for the position of Head, Facilities and Borrower Services – AACPL’s 15 branches serve 540,000+residents, with an annual circulation of over 4.8 million items. Salary range: $57,885 - $96,410 (Hiring range: $57,885 - $77,148)


Fulltime salary range is based on 37.5 hours/week


Excellent benefits package includes eligibility to earn up to 4 weeks of annual leave, starting with first year of employment.


Responsibilities include: Overseeing two areas for the Library System: facilities management and borrower services. Work involves supervision of the Maintenance Department at Library Headquarters with responsibility for system-wide building maintenance and delivery; oversight of circulation policies and procedures; coordination of the Library’s safety program; and other duties as assigned, including tasks related to the Library’s capital building program and strategic plan. Minimum Qualifications: Possession of a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an American Library Association-accredited program plus two years of professional experience and some experience in personnel supervision, training and development, automated circulation systems, library buildings and maintenance, the daily operating procedures of a large public library system, and the strategic planning process.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Ability to secure certification as a Professional Public Librarian in the State of Maryland within 120 days following appointment; ability to meet re-certification requirements by completing 90 hours of training every 5 years.
