Job Summary: Full-time technical services librarian faculty manage the automated library services, select materials and manage the library collection to provide students with access to library resources needed to attain their educational objectives.
Minimum Requirements: A master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution.
Preferred Requirements: Master’s Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited program. Experience with library acquisitions, collection development, and technical services procedures. Training in and experience with cataloging standards and practices including AACR2, LCSH, OCLC, and Dewey. Knowledge of bibliographic record structure and metadata standards. Experience with integrated library systems. Experience with website technology including proxy servers. Effective interpersonal, oral, written, and online communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively across academic disciplines. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of students.
Preferred Experiences: Experience working in an academic library, preferably a community college library. Knowledge of the information marketplace. Experience with Innovative Interfaces Millennium system.
