St. Louis Community College is a multi-campus district comprised of four campuses and six satellites serving 718 square miles of St. Louis city and county and portions of Jefferson and Franklin counties. The college employs over 3,000 full and part time faculty, administrators, staff, including over 500 student employees.
The successful candidate manages and administers library and information access services provided to faculty, staff, and students; seeks and evaluates recommendations regarding collection development; ensures equal access to materials and services district-wide. Oversees instructional technology, including production, distribution, equipment purchasing and repair. Develops and administers library and instructional resources policies and procedures. Oversees large scale facility maintenance and improvement projects; develops capital proposals, initiates engineering service requests (ESR)s, monitors and coordinates activities with facilities operations, facilitates timely completion of projects. Develops, recommends, implements, and manages budget for library services and instructional resources. Collaborates with other campus Senior Managers of Campus Library & Instructional Resources as well as the district Director, for Instructional Resources for distribution of digital resources district-wide. Supervises library faculty; develops faculty work schedule; completes faculty-related processes such as evaluations, promotions, and sabbaticals. Performs normal supervisory functions for all other professional and classified personnel. Knowledge of faculty and staff hiring procedures.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution and over seven years of full-time library experience required. Master of Library Science degree or a master’s degree accredited by the American Library Association (ALA) preferred. Effective communication skills for a diverse campus environment. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Increasingly responsible management experience. Multi-campus experience.
