Brief Description of Duties/Responsibilities: The Instruction Coordinator provides the leadership, direction, planning, and assessment for a creative and effective library instruction program, integrating the use of print, media, and electronic sources into the university curriculum. The Coordinator will provide reference service in a cooperative centralized reference environment, as well as specialized reference services for assigned academic areas. Serves as liaison with two or more academic departments, developing library collections in those areas. Provides general and subject-specific instruction, creates instructional materials and web pages, and participates in evening and weekend reference rotation.

Required Qualifications: ALA accredited M.L.S., or equivalent. Minimum of two years of professional experience in public services in an academic library setting. Recent teaching experience and current professional library experience, including teaching information literacy employing appropriate instruction methods and technologies. Knowledge of current issues and practices, emerging technologies and innovations, and national trends in reference and instruction. Broad experience with a wide variety of print and electronic reference materials. Demonstrated ability to work creatively and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and colleagues; commitment to public service and information literacy. Excellent oral and written communication/presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in instructional program planning, design, and evaluation. Experience working with campus-wide information literacy initiatives.
