The Editor and Publisher directs the
development and implementation of a long-term business strategy to maintain
CHOICE’s competitive position in the higher education marketplace and ensure ongoing fiscal sustainability. This
includes new product development, reenvisioning existing products, and the forging
of new partnerships to maximize revenue generation through new and existing
revenue streams such as subscriptions, licenses, product sales, and
advertising.
Requirements: Minimum of 15 years in publishing with
3 to 5 years of management experience in both print and online publishing. An advanced degree in business is
preferred. Must have knowledge of current trends in scholarly publishing,
practices, standards, business models and technologies. Strong communications skills with proven writing and public
speaking experience Knowledge of/familiarity with academic libraries a plus.
Must be able to foster a team
environment, build relationships and work collaboratively with staff, faculty,
publishers, administrators, members, media and vendors. Knowledge of subscriptions, licensing,
advertising, sales and marketing, product development, and budgeting/financial
management.Salary: Negotiable
from $95,000, based on experience.
