This position provides information,
reference and research assistance to the university community with
concentration in the social sciences.
This position also is responsible for selecting and evaluating
library collections in assigned subject areas, developing and delivering
instructional programs and products, planning and implementing web and individual
outreach services, participating in library planning and development, and
contributing to the library profession.
REQUIREMENTS: ALA-accredited
MLS or MLIS degree; excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal
skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively across
disciplines in a service oriented environment; analytical skills including
independent problem solving, critical thinking and time management skills;
knowledge of reference resources; experience in teaching, training, and/or
presentation; experience providing excellent customer service; experience in
using emerging technologies, specifically web development and multi-media
application. Preferred: academic background in social sciences, library
experience; instructional, teaching or training experience in a classroom
environment; reference experience.
