The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda,
Maryland, the world’s largest medical research facility, seeks applications
from exceptional candidates for the challenging position of Associate Director
for Library Operations, National Library of Medicine (NLM), National Institutes
of Health, a career Federal position in the Senior Executive Service. The
incumbent is directly responsible for planning, evaluating, implementing, and
coordinating the program activities of the Division of Library Operations. This includes formulation and
establishment of policies; the development, analysis and review of programs and
services; the implementation of operating plans; the assessment of resource
requirements; and coordination of programs with other components of NLM, other
NIH institutes, other Federal agencies, national, research, and health sciences
libraries; and information networks in the U.S. and abroad.
We are looking for applicants with senior level
experience who have a commitment to excellence and the energy, enthusiasm, and
innovative thinking necessary to lead a dynamic and diverse organization.
Applicants must possess senior level experience (GS-14/15 or equivalent) that
meets the mandatory Senior Executive Service Executive Core Qualification
requirements that are detailed under ‘Jobs
at NIH’ in the Executive Jobs section.
The successful candidate for this position will be
appointed at a salary of $119,554 - $179,700, and full
Federal benefits, including leave, health and life insurance, retirement, and
savings plan (401K equivalent), will be provided.
