Assistant Professor

The School of Library and Information Studies at University of Oklahoma is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor tenure-track position to begin fall 2012 whose research, teaching, and service contributes to the educational, professional, and personal success of children and youth. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the issues young people encounter living in a digitally connected society and be interested in contributing to the knowledge of 21st Century Literacies.

Requirements for the position include a doctoral degree (completed or nearly completed) in library and information science or a related field, a record of published research or demonstrated research potential, ability to work with multiple constituencies, and ability to deliver courses related to library and information services for children and youth.

Preferred qualifications include experience/demonstrated ability in the design and delivery of courses in a variety of formats. Additionally knowledge of and/or experience in the application of the American Association of School Librarians and/or the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education Standards are preferred.
