Full-time Research Faculty Positions
The iSchool at Drexel University invites applications for full-time, non-tenured research faculty position in the areas of Information Security/Cyber Security/Forensics and Digital Preservation/Curation. Candidates may also teach in one or more of our degree programs - BS in Information Systems, BS in Information Technology, and BS in Software Engineering as well as in our master’s degree programs – MS in Library and Information Science, MS in Health Informatics, MS in Information Systems, and MS in Software Engineering on a limited basis.
Qualifications for successful candidates for these full-time research positions include:
• A completed doctorate in a related field
• Sustained track record of conducting funded research
• Evidence of a successful publication record
• US citizen or permanent resident
• Interest in working with a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary faculty
The iSchool’s view of information is broad, multidisciplinary, and practical. The College continues to evolve as an innovative leader in educating information professionals in the twenty-first century, combining high quality teaching and research in a broad, multidisciplinary, and collaborative environment. We offer three BS degrees, four Masters degrees, and the PhD. Full-time PhD students are supported either through faculty research grants from the National Science Foundation, the Institute for Library and Museum Services, and other funding agencies (including contract research through its Applied Informatics group), or while performing other research or teaching related activities in the College. The ALA Accredited MS(LIS) degree is highly ranked, both overall and for specializations in information systems and digital librarianship. Faculty and student interests span a broad spectrum of library and information science areas. All academic programs emphasize applied research, with a tradition of both quantitative and qualitative research that encourages interdisciplinary activity. We consider experience in industry a plus.
