Position Description:
This position is responsible for the planning, direction, organization, and administration of all operations of ECC library: strategically manage traditional and digital library services and information technologies to enhance learning and information access. The scope of the activities includes supervision of librarians and library support staff, library service scheduling, supervision of evaluation and selection of library collections and equipment, implementing and assessing the library functions and integrations into the academic and student success priority of the campus, and promoting continuous improvement of library operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited school. Minimum 5 years of increasing responsibility in creative administrative leadership of library operations and services. A strong commitment to the educational role of the library. Knowledge of and experience with assessment of library services and instruction. Clear understanding of information technology and information literacy and their changing roles in higher education. Demonstrated experience with library resources: collection (print and non-print) and technology. Demonstrated experience with library budget development and management. Demonstrated understanding of the major issues facing higher education in general and community colleges and academic libraries in particular. Evidence of public presentation and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with college faculty and administrators. An appreciation of a multicultural work environment.
