The Ferndale Public Library, Ferndale, Michigan (www.ferndale.lib.mi.us), has an immediate opening for the position of Library Director.

In May of 2007 the citizens of Ferndale voted by a two-to-one margin to double local library taxes, providing a $1.2 million annual budget. The incoming director will therefore have the opportunity to:
• Help design and oversee construction of a nearly $5 million building expansion and renovation emphasizing innovative use of space and technology and environmentally-responsible green construction and operation.
• Revitalize library services using new and future technology and a staff ready for change.
• Become a community and library leader in city with a high degree of civic engagement.

Qualified applicants will present demonstrated leadership skills, relevant library achievements, and an MLS or equivalent.

Salary range: $60,000-$80,000. Starting salary negotiable based upon experience. Excellent benefits.
