Temporary Instruction and Reference Librarian


Colby College Libraries – Temporary Instruction and Reference Librarian, 9 month academic year 

Colby College Libraries invites applications for a temporary instruction and reference librarian.  This is a 9 month faculty librarian position for the 2011-2012 academic year.  Preferred start date is August 15, 2011.  Primary duties include information literacy instruction and providing reference assistance and consultation.  Other duties include liaison to departments in the social sciences and humanities. Some weekend and evening shifts are required.

Required:
An ALA-accredited master’s degree (by 9/2011).
Evidence of a commitment to information literacy and library instruction.
Evidence of a broad knowledge of information resources

Preferred:
Teaching experience
Reference experience in an academic library
Knowledge of and interest in exploring emerging technologies to advance and improve reference and instruction services
