Rider University Moore Library is seeking a Cataloger/Bibliographic Control Librarian for a full time, tenure-track position for the Fall 2008 semester. ALA accredited MLS required along with a strong, recent academic background in cataloging. Qualified candidate will provide library with expertise in cataloging and catalog maintenance/enhancement, work regular reference desk hours, and participate in library's instruction/information literacy program. Successful candidate will have original and copy cataloging using AACR2r and MARC21 for print and non-print material formats in an integrated library system, good understanding of authority control, and experience using OCLC Connexion.
Experience in liaison/outreach activities preferred. Second graduate degree, scholarly activity (broadly defined), and value/service activities will be required for interim promotion and for tenure.
Moore Library faculty all participate in library policy, public services, technical functions, and in one or more areas of collection development as well as in departmental and University service/governance. Rider librarians hold full faculty status with access to fellowships and leaves, a 10-month/205 day work year, the opportunity to work closely with classroom faculty, and abundant opportunities for service and input in the Libraries, wider University community, and library profession.
