Associate University Librarian for Planning and Facilities

 SUMMARY: The Associate University Librarian for Planning and Facilities (AULPF) is responsible for library-wide planning initiatives, leadership of major renovation and construction projects, and operational oversight of Northwestern University library facilities in Evanston, Chicago and Waukegan. The AULPF leads the Planning and Facilities Division, which includes the Facilities Operations and Stacks Management Department (FOSM) and the Oak Grove Library Center (OGLC). These departments are responsible for stacks management, safety and security, building management, remote storage operations and services, and the physical organization and transport of a wide variety of library materials. The AULPF may represent the library and/or the university locally, regionally and nationally in meetings, groups, and forums as required. QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: MLS from an ALA-accredited library school or international equivalent or other relevant advanced academic degree with experience in the academic or research library context. Experience in strategic planning in large complex organizations and in shaping, implementing, and assessing innovative, comprehensive library facilities projects. A minimum of 5 years successful experience working with an academic or research library on a broad scale, including design and coordination of library planning and facilities projects. Demonstrated high quality of leadership, communication, writing, interpersonal, analytical, quantitative, planning, and supervisory skills. Proficient project management, technology, and presentation skills. A strong record of service and professional contribution.
