The Fort Worth Library seeks a dynamic, capable, enterprising advocate for youth library services. This position, under the direction of the Public Service Assistant Director, is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating programs and services for children and teens. The chosen candidate is expected to develop collaborations, remain visible within the community, supervise the Early Childhood Matters program and coordinate system-wide youth and teen services activities, events, programs and training. The successful candidate must have excellent decision making, communication and organizational skills and a record of working with community groups, nonprofits, and private industry to accomplish organizational goals.
Minimum qualifications are a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited college or university, Four years responsible professional library experience including two years of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience coordinating system-wide youth services, working with children and teens, working in a multi-branch public library system, experience managing five or more direct reports and proven expertise in developing procedures, policies and programs.
