The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries invites applications for the position of Instruction Design Librarian. Reporting to the Head of Instruction, an Instruction Design Librarian with expertise in learning theory, pedagogical methods, and learning outcomes assessment is needed to support library and information literacy instruction in both face to face and online environments. This librarian will collaborate with subject-specialist librarians to design tools and experiences to enhance lessons in critical thinking and information literacy delivered to UNLV students. The Instruction Design Librarian will also develop workshops for library faculty to improve the effectiveness of course-related library instruction and workshops for library and academic faculty that integrate information literacy concepts into departmental curricula. Workshop topics may include pedagogy, assignment design, student-centered instruction, learning theory, learning styles and student learning assessment. As a tenure track library faculty member, the incumbent will be expected to work collaboratively to build partnerships within the Libraries; engage in scholarly activities; and provide service to the university, the community, and the profession in accordance with Libraries and University standards for promotion and tenure.
