Serials Resources Librarian

The Library-Archives Division of the Wisconsin Historical Society seeks a talented and energetic person to assume responsibility for its serials acquisition and collection development work. It is also responsible for evaluating new content formats including electronic serials resources and for helping to chart the course for the library’s transition from print to electronic holdings for selected titles. This position works in cooperation with other professional staff members to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement all serials work.

Qualifications:
A well qualified candidate will have an MLS degree from an accredited graduate library science program in addition to professional work experience with collection development issues and practices in research libraries; experience with approval plans, serials management tools, vendor relations, and licensing issues; knowledge of library collection assessment tools; excellent oral and written communication skills; and knowledge of evolving research trends in scholarly communications.
