Colgate University seeks an innovative, collaborative, and service-oriented professional to lead its Special Collections and University Archives to begin May 1, 2009. Reporting to the University Librarian, the successful candidate will provide leadership, vision, planning, and management for the Libraries’ special collections and archives and participate in their development, preservation, organization, promotion and digitization with particular focus on management of the University Archives. This individual supervises the Special Collections, Metadata, and Web Librarian, the part-time Conservation Technician, and student assistants.
An accredited master’s degree in library, information science, archives or museum studies or equivalent, three years experience with archives and special collections, and experience with digitization is required.
