ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN
Western Kentucky University is seeking an Electronic Resources Librarian, reporting to the Head of Library Public Services with collaborative report to the Head of Library Technical Services. This is a 10-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The university is in Bowling Green, Kentucky, an attractive and progressive community with a metro population of 109,000 one hour from Nashville and two hours from Louisville. Duties: coordinate selection, acquisition, and maintenance of electronic resources; oversee licensing, compliance, statistical reports, access, and other technology issues; chair library-wide electronic resources committee; represent libraries on state-wide committees selecting electronic resources; assist with institutional repository and other digital initiatives; provide reference assistance, collection development, and research instruction in areas of specialization; and related duties as assigned. Research and publication required for promotion and tenure.
Requirements: ALA-accredited MLS plus an additional graduate degree; experience managing electronic resources; knowledge of HTML or Web development software; openness to emerging technologies; reference experience; ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
Preferred: Experience with client-server applications, Javascript, and Voyager integrated library system; expertise in English, Philosophy, Religion, Music, Computer Science, or related areas.
