Librarian

Chapin Memorial Library – Performs professional work in a public library Reference Department. Duties include supervising, directing, and evaluating Reference staff; coordinating the smooth operation of the Reference Department; assisting customers with informational needs; conducting interlibrary loan activities; selecting materials for Reference collection; providing reader’s advisory services and bibliographic instruction; monitoring and assisting customers with public computers; planning, developing and conducting programs and library research skills workshops; preparing and completing various forms, reports, correspondence and other documents, performing other related duties as assigned. Requires good oral and written communication skills, ability to work with people of all ages, ability to work nights and weekends, ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library Science, eligible for or holds S.C. certification, library experience, and a valid driver’s license. Salary Range: $40,863 - $63,746/yr, plus benefits.
