Associate Dean of Libraries for Technical and Automated Services

Adelphi University, chartered in 1896, was the first institution of higher learning for liberal arts and sciences on Long Island. The Libraries serve the University’s 8,400 students enrolled on the main Garden City campus and locations in Manhattan, Hudson Valley, and Hauppauge.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides leadership for Acquisitions, Cataloging, Serials, Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery, and Systems operations.
  • Participates in maintenance of the Libraries’ Innovative Interfaces library management system.
  • Contributes to the planning and implementation of digital initiatives.
    As a member of the Libraries’ senior administrative team, participates in a wide range of administrative activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
ALA-accredited MLS required; a second post-baccalaureate degree is preferred. Significant
supervisory experience and experience in library technical services and automation is required.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a collegial environment.
