Under the direction of the Head of Information, Outreach and Delivery Services, the successful candidate will:
- Provide in-person and virtual reference services at a general reference desk, some evening hours required.
- Participate in a general library instruction program supporting composition and Freshmen Seminar courses

Information Management Specialist/Librarian
Overall Function:
The Information Management Specialist will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of Environmental Defense’s evolving enterprise content management strategies and policies. Manage day to day content contributions including review and classification of new submissions. Assist with information architecture projects as related to intranet and external web site development when needed. Assist staff with electronic research needs. Manage information and research related vendors such as Lexis/Nexis and Web of Science.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Development and management of Environmental Defense taxonomy and meta data for Enterprise Content Management System, Records Management and Storage.
a. Ongoing development of metadata, cataloging policies and best practices
b. Maintain metadata documentation
c. Continually augment and refine organizational taxonomy to meet existing and emerging organization needs. Analyze web analytic software for search terms to refine taxonomy as needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:
· MLS/MLIS degree from an accredited ALA institution
· Experience with taxonomy development. Familiarity with folksonomies and other meta data strategies
· Knowledge of standards, procedures and practices used for information lifecycle management

· Knowledge of records management and imaging systems
· Experience with enterprise content management systems, search engines and other relevant technical applications. Knowledge of Tower Trim Context a plus.

Clinical Education Librarian
CLINICAL EDUCATION LIBRARIAN
Position Description: Reporting to the Assistant Director for Collections and Outreach, the Clinical Education Librarian plans, promotes and provides information services that support the needs of residents and, to a lesser degree, faculty, researchers, staff and students, of the Carver College of Medicine and the affiliated hospital.
· As liaison to academic and clinical units, cultivates relationships with residents and faculty to identify opportunities for library partnerships with education and health care programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Working directly with faculty and research scientists in the Women’s Studies Department and the Institute for Research on Women and Gender and under the direction of the Head of Reference and Instruction, the successful candidate will assume these responsibilities:
· Provide support to the Women’s Studies Department and to the Institute for Research on Women and Gender.
· Provide leadership for collection development in the interdisciplinary areas of women and gender studies, sexuality studies, and the intersection of gender, race, and sexuality.
· Provide research consultation for faculty and students in the Women’s Studies Department and to the Institute for Research on Women and Gender.
· Provide course-integrated instruction, workshops, and credit courses designed to foster the effective use of subject-resources and the effective application of new technologies in teaching and scholarship.
· Participate in grant writing activities to support the research of faculty and research scientists.
· Provide direct reference assistance to users at the Graduate Library Information Center or via virtual reference services.
· Collaborate on special projects, participating in long-term planning and service assessment, and serving on committees and task forces.
QUALIFICATIONS
· ALA accredited master’s degree in library or information science, or an equivalent combination of a relevant advanced degree and experience in a discipline significantly engaged in examining critical issues in the area of gender studies.
· Subject knowledge of the methodologies, and information resources relevant to research and study around questions informing the lives of women, and issues related to gender and sexuality research across multiple disciplines.
· Knowledge of information tools and resources relevant to research in the humanities, social sciences, and medical fields.
· Experience and interest in the application of technology to research and teaching along with a strong commitment to public services to a diverse community.

Arts Liaison Librarian (Music, Art, & Design, Film)
The School of Music offers several MA concentrations including composition, music education and performance as well as a PhD in teaching and learning. The School of Music also maintains a full calendar of concerts and events in several venues including the Kopleff Recital Hall and the Rialto Center for the Arts. The Ernest G. Responsibilities
The successful candidate serves as liaison to assigned departments; meets regularly with members of the departments to provide information and instruction about library services, collections, and programs. The successful candidate will deliver quality, in-depth reference and consultation services in the designated subject areas; develop library collections in the assigned areas, including participation in the management of the library materials budget; promote the library and information literacy; and foster communication between the assigned departments and the library. Liaison librarians assist with the general reference service that includes desk and virtual reference hours and are responsible for occasional weekend and evening hours. As faculty members, liaison librarians serve on library and university committees and engage in scholarly activities.
Requirements
ALA-accredited MLS and relevant experience in one of the advertised subject areas. Familiarity with resources in a variety of formats, skill in use of technology and web based applications, and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in one of the advertised subject areas. Experience in Collection Development within one of the subject areas, especially music, is strongly preferred. Demonstrated interest in research and professional activities.
Salary and Rank
$42,800-$52,000 for 12 months commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience. Appointment at a faculty rank, on a contract renewal basis.
