Northwestern University Library seeks a Resource Sharing and Reserve Librarian to provide oversight and management of interlibrary loan, the library’s “article scan and deliver” service, UBorrow (a new resource sharing initiative of the CIC), and electronic and print course reserve services of the access services department. Works with the staff to plan, recommend, and implement improvements to these core services. Leads in promotion and assessment of these services. Serves as a resource for questions related to copyright and other policies and practices affecting service. Works closely with the department head and other departmental supervisors to plan and implement seamless services and resource delivery with a user focus in pursuit of divisional, library, and university goals.
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: Master’s degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and relevant library experience. Experience in access services in an academic or research library. Demonstrated technological skills. Proven service orientation. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of library users and colleagues. Demonstrated initiative and flexibility; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
