Director of Library

Position Description:

The college’s library is the Learning Resources Center (LRC). The director is an Administrative Librarian responsible for leading strategic planning for future growth and services to students, faculty, and the community; managing state-of-the-art cataloging; circulation; managing collections and archives; linking library information resources and information technology; managing online library management systems; managing library resources; responding effectively to emerging teaching and learning opportunities; evaluating and assessing library programs; fostering a collaborative approach to managing the library and its personnel; prepares and manages annual operational budgets for the LRC; demonstrates excellence in library service in support of the College’s mission; demonstrates excellent customer service.

Qualifications Required:

Master’s in Library and Information Science from an American Library Association accredited institution; Knowledge of the philosophy and techniques of library service; Positive attitude toward all library users; Willingness to work successfully with diverse constituencies; Have an understanding of academic processes and trends in higher education.
