The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC), seeks an innovative, collaborative, and energetic candidate to join the University Library’s Collection Development Department. Individuals with a background or experience in the Physical & Biological Sciences or Engineering, demonstrated knowledge of scholarly communication issues and trends, and rights management knowledge and expertise are strongly encouraged to apply. This position demands leadership abilities and the ability to work with library and university constituencies. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity of the academic community. The position reports to the Head of the Collection Development Department.
The Collection Development Department manages and participates in the development and support of collections in all formats to support the research, instruction, and educational requirements of the UC Santa Cruz community. The Department leads the development of strategic directions for scholarly communication programs and services at the UCSC campus, providing outreach and instruction to the UCSC community related to intellectual property and other related issues.
The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment level is $47,544 - $49,564 (Assistant Librarian I – Associate Librarian I).
